Til Tail (Sesamum indicum):

Due to its natural orientation to the sun, this warming & protective oil stimulates the circulation. It also assists in the buildup of the skin's natural lipid layer. It has ability to strengthen the system, detoxify the body & ensure the proper functioning of all the vital organs. Sesame oil is a significant part of the Ayurvedic treatment to relieve muscular pain & tension, make the skin healthy & glowing, regularize the breathing pattern, improve blood circulation, relax the nervous system, revive the mind & relieve stress & sleeping difficulties.

- Produces analgesic activity comparable to ibuprofen

In one experimental study, analgesic activity of the ethanolic extract of Sesamum indicum has been tested by acetic acid-induced writhing model in mice. Acetic acid causes algesia by liberation of endogenous substances, which then excite the pain nerve endings. The study concluded that the extract produced a significant writhing inhibition at the doses of 500 mg/kg, which is comparable to the standard drug Ibuprofen at the dose of 50 mg/kg.
